Shayone Handfield-Gardiner

Mrs. Shayone Handfield-Gardiner hails from the beautiful Island of North Caicos. A qualified Solicitor and a member of the Law Society in England and Wales since 2007, Mrs. Handfield-Gardiner was admitted to practice in the Turks and Caicos Islands in 2009.  She joined the Attorney General’s Chambers in 2010 as Crown Counsel, where she worked in the Commercial and Civil Division.  She worked very closely with the Lands Division, and acted as Registrar of Lands for a short while in December 2012.

Mrs. Handfield-Gardiner obtained her Masters of Law Degree in International Law; but her credentials as an experienced attorney spans across various areas of law, including Commercial and Civil law, Conveyancing, Corporate Law, Personal Injury Law, International Compliance, Maritime Law, Tax Compliance, Extradition, Mutual Legal Assistance, Asset Recovery and other areas of AML/CFT/PF. Mrs. Handfield-Gardiner has benefitted from numerous training opportunities in various areas of law, and has led local trainings in various areas of AML/CFT/PF.  She is a trained Assessor in the Financial Action Task Force Fourth Round of Mutual Evaluations and she is also a qualified Mediator through the prestigious University of the West Indies.

Mrs. Handfield-Gardiner is an ardent and keen worker.  She is always willing to learn new skills. This has served her well as she was appointed to the post of Principal Crown Counsel for the International Division in 2021. She is responsible for managing the International Division and providing monthly reports on the work of her team.
