Acting Governor Her Excellency Anya Williams chaired the 22nd meeting of the Cabinet held on Wednesday, 15 July 2026, and on Thursday, 16 July 2026 at the Office of the Premier, Providenciales. All members of Cabinet were present with the exception of Governor Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam and Minister of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture Hon. Rachel Taylor.

At this meeting Cabinet:

Strengthening the Economy & Consumer Protection

• Cabinet approved the National Fair Competition Policy 2026 and drafting instructions for the Fair Competition Ordinance, establishing the framework for a Consumer Protection and Fair Competition Commission.

• Cabinet also noted the implementation plan and associated costs for the Consumer Protection (Amendment) Ordinance.

Supporting the Fisheries Sector

• Approved Class A Processing and Export Licences for the 2026/27 and 2027/28 seasons for:
○ Caicos Seafood Ltd.
○ Caicos Fisheries Ltd.
○ Provo Conch and Seafood Ltd.

• Endorsed the Sustainable Livelihood Policy for Fishing Communities, including phased implementation across the Islands and legislative reforms to modernise the Fisheries Protection Ordinance.

• Reappointed Mr. Henry Wilson to the Fisheries Advisory Committee for one year, effective 20 July 2026.

• Approved the appointment of the following members to the Fisheries Advisory Committee for two years, effective 20 July 2026:
○ Ms. Oshin Whyte
○ Hon. Matthew Stubbs
○ Mr. Wendrico Seymour

Housing & Development

• Approved the rezoning of Parcel 10204/162, North West Suburbs, Grand Turk, from Low Density Residential to Medium Density Residential to facilitate a new apartment development.

Water Infrastructure

• Approved amendments to the Water Undertaking (Grand Turk, Salt Cay and South Caicos) Act and the Water and Sewage Act to enable private sector and public-private partnership investment in water utility operations.

Environmental Management

• Considered the Final Dredging and Sedimentation Impact Assessment Report and approved both immediate and long-term actions arising from its recommendations.

Natural Resources

• Approved the Minerals (Exploration and Exploitation) (Amendment) Bill 2026 for transmission to Parliament.

• Approved the Minerals (Exploration and Exploitation) (Application Fees and Royalties) Regulations 2026 and related implementation measures.
