POST CABINET MEETING STATEMENT- 20TH AUGUST 2026

Cabinet Statements

Her Excellency Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam chaired the 27th meeting of the Cabinet, held on Thursday, 20th August 2026, at the Premier’s Office, Providenciales.

All Members of Cabinet were present, with the exception of the Hon. Rhondalee Braithwaite-Knowles, with Khalila Astwood sitting as Acting Attorney General, H.E. the Deputy Governor, Hon. Deputy Premier Robinson, Hon. Malcolm and Hon. Saunders.

At this meeting Cabinet:

Emergency Fire Appliance – Providenciales

  • Granted approval for funding of $1,138,000 from the Contingency Fund in FY2026/2027 for the emergency procurement of one Pierce Enforcer fire pumper for Providenciales.

iCARE – Pro Bono Services

  • Approved the Memorandum of Understanding outlining the framework for the provision of pro bono services by iCARE to the Turks and Caicos Islands.

InterHealth Canada

  • Noted an update on InterHealth Canada.

Grand Turk Enhancement and Sustainability Agency – Interim Managing Director

  • Approved the extension of Ms. Kathy Walkin’s appointment and employment agreement as Interim Managing Director of GTESA for six months, commencing 20th August 2026 and ending 31st March 2027.

Board of Directors – Reappointments

  • Approved the following reappointments to the
  •  Board of Directors pursuant to section 7(7) of the Ordinance:
    • Mr. Pedro Ariza as Chairperson for a further period of one year, commencing 1st August 2026 and ending 31st July 2027.
    • Mr. Seamus Day as Deputy Chairperson for a further period of one year, commencing 1st August 2026 and ending 31st July 2027.
    • Mr. Louis Graveley as a Director for a further period of one year, commencing 15th September 2026 and ending 14th September 2027.

Round Robin Approval

  • Noted the Round Robin approval.

Overseas Long-Term Care Funding

  • Approved clarification of the arrangement for approved overseas long-term care funding.
