Reduction in Customs Storage Fees/Warehouse Rents
The Public is hereby notified that the Turks and Caicos Islands Government (TCIG) has made a policy decision to reduce the prescribed rates of storage fees/warehouse rents by 50% on the importation of all commodities. Legislative amendment is underway to effect this change.
Meanwhile TCIG is affording an amnesty waiving storage fees, to all importers whose goods are currently in Customs warehouses both in Providenciales and Grand Turk.
Details of Amnesty:
It applies to all merchandise imported up to the 31st of March 2016
The period is up to the 10th of June 2016, ONLY, and in order to benefit from the reduction, the goods must be cleared within this period.
The waiver will extend up to the time that the merchandise is cleared provided that this is done within the amnesty period. In order to benefit from the amnesty all Import Customs Duties, and Customs Processing fees must first be paid.
On the expiration of the amnesty period, all uncleared goods will be auctioned by the Customs Department. All importers with goods in the warehouses are encouraged to clear as soon as possible!
