As we now are entering the peak season of water demand. The Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Planning in collaboration the Water Undertaking Unit within the Department of Public Works would like to advise the residents of Grand Turk to utilize all water conservation tips. See tips below:
- Check faucets and pipes for leaks
- Check your toilets for leaks
- Turn off the water after you wet your toothbrush
- Don't run the hose while washing your car
- When washing dishes by hand, don't leave the water running for rinsing
Water Undertaking is utilizing all efforts to ensure all districts in Grand Turk are receiving water, but due to the high volume of water that was used to fight the recent fires and water loss due to the vandalism of water mains and service lines, it has set back the pressuring of the water distribution system.
The Ministry and Department would like to thank all those persons who are already practicing water conservation and ask all customer to be as vigilant as possible and notify the Water Undertaking Division at (1-649) 338 3519 or (1-649) 338 3522 if you notice any leaks or any person(s) tampering with the system.
