Deputy Governor, Anya Williams is excited to launch this year’s recruitment program and to follow on from numerous improvements and achievements in the civil service last year.
She stated: "2015-2016 saw a number of improvements being implemented in the civil service and in our recruitment and retention programs. Following on from the implementation of the Pay and Grading Review, we noted an increase in the number of applications and interest in positions across government. This was coupled with the launch of our TCI Jobs web page which allowed persons more visibility and access to vacancies in government.
“This year we have already experienced another increase in salaries through the 2.5% across the board salary increase implemented in April 2016 as well as TCIG will be undertaking a review of several other areas.
“As a part of our new community outreach program, we will be facilitating a Job Readiness Fair during the month of June, which is aimed at assisting persons in obtaining jobs within government by providing guidance and insight into how you can apply for these jobs, the forms of documentation that must be supplied along with your application, as well as tips on how to prepare for interviews. All ministries are expected to take part in the Job Readiness Fair as well as the Royal Turks and Caicos Police Force which is currently seeking to fill 20 constable positions and we are looking forward to a great initiative.
“We were quite pleased with the level of talent that we were able to attract to the civil service last year and also the significant increase in promotions from within government as well. This year as we seek to create excellence in public service through the improvement of service delivery across government, we encourage persons to continue to visit our website www.gov.tc/vacancies to review our vacancies each month and look forward to welcoming new and innovative talent to our team."
