The Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Planning in collaboration the Water Undertaking Unit within the Department of Public Works, is pleased to announce the arrival and installation of Pre-paid water meters, under a pilot program for residents in Grand Turk.

This prepaid Smart Metering technology will allow you, the customer, to control your own water account/s, with the use of a ‘top-up’ or ‘pay as you go’ card, which is topped up similar to the method used to top-up your cellphone. Once installed, this smart meter will:

  1. Eliminate monthly bills
  2. Detect leaks in your distribution system
  3. Not record air
  4. Alert when your credit will expire

For a minimum top-up of one US dollar ($1), which will be carried out at the Public Works Department, South Base, Grand Turk currently, persons can have water at their fingertips.

The Ministry and Department would like to thank all those persons who are already a part of the pilot program and extend the invitation to other interested persons to contact our Water Undertaking Division at 1 649 338 3519 or 1 649 338 3522.
