Saving rare & endangered documents in the Turks and Caicos Islands
The TCNMF is pleased to present an Evening with the Experts from the USA, Bahamas and Canada who are currently working with the Turks and Caicos National Museum Foundation on an UK Endangered Archives Programme Grant.
Dr. Kelley Skudder-Temple, Executive Director of the Zemi Foundation, Mr. Michael Temple IT Specialist for the Zemi Foundation, Mr. Paul Diamond Special Projects Co-ordinator for the Zemi Foundation and Dr. Michael Pateman, Assistant Director National Museum of the Bahamas, and will be the speakers for the evening.
These experts are here to speak about the importance of preserving rare, fragile and endangered historical documents of the Turks and Caicos Islands
Currently these experts along with Museum volunteers and staff are in the process of digitizing records that the Museum holds within its collections. This will enable rare records to be available to everyone with access to a computer!
We will be discussing the status of rare documents recently obtained by the Museum and the possibility of acquiring additional materials that date back to the 17th Century from TCI.
Free to the public, however space is limited.
