Project: Lighthouse Road Re-Development Project - Contract Duration: 6 Months

This serves as a Notice to all Private and Commercial Vehicle Users and residents of Grand Turk, of the ongoing works to Lighthouse Road, Grand Turk– Phase 1.

This work will take place from the Lighthouse to Crab Tree Corner Park. Drivers are asked to drive with due care and attention, adhering to signage and safety measures that are currently in place. Large holes have been dug in order to house the wells and soak away, thus reducing the width of the road to single carriage way, in some instances. Hence, caution must be taken in maneuvering this road and most importantly as you approach these hazardous areas.

Please bear in mind this is a construction site and the correct right of way is in place. Drivers are asked to be vigilant and reduce speeds especially with loose dirt now on site. Vendors catering to Tourists and Tourist activities should ensure that their patrons refrain from erratic driving, whilst in this construction zone.

Please be advised that this project which commenced on Monday 4 July 2016, by Island Drilling Limited, with a six months duration, is on schedule for completion.

The Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Planning in collaboration with the PWD, is asking the motoring public to transverse this area with extreme caution. We thank you in advance for your patience, understanding and compliance, as your safety is our number one priority. Should you have any questions, comments or concerns about this project, please feel free to contact the office of Public Works Department on 649-338-2501/2502.
