NEW APPOINTMENTS BOLSTERS TCIG INTEREST IN THE UK

TCI’s Economical and Political interests in the UK have been bolstered by the addition of two new appointments in the Turks & Caicos Islands Government’s (TCIG) office in the UK Based Home Office, it was announced today, Tuesday, 1st September 2015.

Tracy Knight has been appointed as Head of Office & Resource Management, and Mr. Kimo Tynes as UK Representative - Consular Services in the Office of the Premier, London, United Kingdom.  They will both take up their new appointments later this month.

“We are confident that Tracy and Kimo will represent the TCI well while performing their respective duties overseas,” said Deputy Governor Anya Williams.

”The exposure and experience they will gain while living and working in UK represents a tremendous development opportunity, both for them and their country. TCIG intends to continue to build on this existing office and strengthen through providing more talented resources like these new hires.”

"This is another proud moment for us as Turks and Caicos Islanders as the Government continues to deliver on our promise to employ our people within the Civil Service," said Premier, Dr. The Hon. Rufus W. Ewing.

"These latest appointments in the UK are especially noteworthy as this is the first home office to be established for the country abroad and it is important that we have our own promoting the territory and representing our interests in another country.

"I have every faith in the abilities of our people and I know that Ms. Knight and Mr. Tynes will be invaluable assets to the Government."

The Head of Office and Resource Management coordinates the activities of the Turks and Caicos Islands Home Office to promote inward investment and to identify and access funding from UK and European Union donor agencies.

The Consular Officer/UK Representative-Consular Services promotes the Political interests of TCIG in the UK and to support TCI nationals residing in the UK.
