The Department of Environment and Coastal Resource s (DECR) will be ‘greening’ the Turks and Caicos and invite you to join us in various activities to celebrate Earth Day (22 April), International Day for Biodiversity (22 May), and World Turtle Day (23 May).
Earth Day will kick off the 'WE SAY NO TO STRAWS' campaign. The DECR has partnered with stakeholders and even our very own Fish Fry, who have pledged to not serve drinks with straws. This campaign is to create awareness of our beautiful marine environment and how we can take small actions each day to conserve and protect it!
Various school activities will also be held in honour of Greening the TCI, including the annual essay competition, the ‘From Green to Blue’ 3D Diorama competition, book readings and the Turtle Olympics which will be held in the Nation’s Capital!
