The Ministry of Health would like to advise the public that as at 12am on 14th June 2020:

SINCE THE PREVIOUS UPDATE, THE TURKS AND CAICOS HAS EXPERIENCED SOME CHANGE IN ITS COVID-19 POSITION. TCI CONTINUES TO RECORD NO NEW POSITIVE OR SUSPECTED CASES.

THE NUMBER OF PERSONS IN QUARANTINE/OBSERVATION HAS DECREASED TO 172. This includes: a person experiencing symptoms but not meeting the case definition (1), and returning TCI residents (171) – Fifty-three (53) of these persons are currently being quarantined at a non-medical facility. One person is under hospital care. Persons under observation/quarantine, that are not confirmed or suspected cases, are either not displaying symptoms or have not met the case definition.

THE DECREASE IN QUARANTINE/OBSERVATION NUMBERS IS AS A RESULT OF THE QUARANTINE PERIOD EXPIRING FOR SEVERAL INDIVIDUALS; THESE PERSONS WERE REMOVED FROM QUARANTINE/OBSERVATION STATUS. TO DATE, A TOTAL OF 727 individuals have been released from quarantine/observation status

TWENTY-EIGHT (28) LOCAL TEST RESULTS WERE RECORDED, CONFIRMING THAT ALL PERSONS WERE NEGATIVE FOR COVID-19. TESTING IS NOW BEING CONDUCTED FOR PERSONS IN A RANGE OF CATEGORIES, INCLUDING FRONTLINE WORKERS, THOSE THAT MAY NEED TO TRAVEL LOCALLY TO OTHER ISLANDS, TRAVEL FOR TREATMENT ABROAD AND OTHER REASONS. THESE PERSONS WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN IN QUARANTINE. To date, the TCI has recorded a total of two hundred and seventy-three (273) test results, with two hundred and sixty-one (261) confirmed to be negative and twelve (12) positive confirmations. All persons confirmed not to have COVID-19, and any contacts, (if quarantined, will be removed from quarantine/observation status) are asked to continue following proper guidelines from the Ministry of Health.

CONFIRMED POSITIVE CASES CONTINUE TO STAND AT TWELVE (12); WITH THE TOTAL NUMBER OF RECOVERIES FROM COVID-19 AT TEN (10), AND THE TCI CONTINUES TO RECORD ONE COVID-19 DEATH.

OVER THE PAST 24hrs, THE TURKS AND CAICOS HAS HAD NO CHANGE IN ITS COVID-19 POSITION. NO NEW POSITIVE OR SUSPECTED CASES HAVE BEEN RECORDED SINCE THE PREVIOUS UPDATE.

THE NUMBER OF PERSONS IN QUARANTINE/OBSERVATION REMAINS AT 196. This includes: a person experiencing symptoms but not meeting the case definition (1), and returning TCI residents (195) – seventy-four (74) of these persons are currently being quarantined at a non-medical facility. One person is now under hospital care. Persons under observation/quarantine, that are not confirmed or suspected cases, are either not displaying symptoms or have not met the case definition.

TO DATE, A TOTAL OF 700 individuals have been released from quarantine/observation status

THE CHANGE IN QUARANTINE/OBSERVATION NUMBERS IS AS A RESULT OF TCI RESIDENTS RETURNING FROM OVERSEAS WHO HAVE BEEN ADDED TO QUARANTINE/OBSERVATION STATUS; AND INDIVIDUALS WHO QUARANTINE PERIOD HAS NOW EXPIRED AND THUS HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM QUARANTINE/OBSERVATION STATUS. THE TURKS AND CAICOS CONTINUES TO SEE SOME CHANGE IN ITS COVID-19 POSITION. NO NEW POSITIVE OR SUSPECTED CASES HAVE BEEN RECORDED SINCE THE PREVIOUS UPDATE. the public IS ADVISED TO CONTINUE FOLLOWING THE HEALTH ADVICE AND GUIDELINES FROM THE MINISTRY, ESPECIALLY AS WE PROGRESS WITH THE PHASED REOPENING.

TWENTY-SIX LOCAL TEST RESULTS HAVE BEEN RECORDED, CONFIRMING INDIVIDUALS WERE NEGATIVE FOR COVID-19. All persons confirmed not to have COVID-19, and any contacts, (if quarantined, will be removed from quarantine/observation status) are asked to continue following proper guidelines from the Ministry of Health.

Statement from MOT on Returning Residents

The Ministry of Tourism continues to encourage Turks and Caicos Islands residents and students who wish to return to the country, to register with the Tourist Board. Persons who wish to return should send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to provide the following:

  1. Name
  2. Number of persons in your traveling party
  3. Contact information
  4. Country of departure
  5. Proof of legal status in the Turks and Caicos Islands

As of May 15th the Emergency Powers (COVID-19) (No. 4) (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations 2020 came into operation and provided for the return of the following persons by international air travel:

  1. Turks and Caicos Islanders
  2. Permanent residents who ordinarily reside in the Islands for the majority of the year as opposed to those who reside outside of the Islands and only travel to the Islands occasionally during the year
  3. Residence Permit holders who are married to Turks and Caicos Islanders

Flights arrangements are currently in progress and final details will be provided to persons registered in our database. The following upcoming flights have been coordinated by the Ministry of Tourism for returning residents:

  • London, Heathrow to Providenciales on 11th June 2020 via British Airways
  • Nassau, Bahamas to Providenciales on 11th June 2020 via Bahamas Air

Additional flights will be announced to facilitate the return of residents prior to the reopening of our borders on July 22, 2020.

Returning residents should note the following:

  1. You must contact the airlines directly to book a seat. Details will be provided to you via email.
  2. You will be required to complete and submit to the airline a health screening questionnaire for COVID-19 prior to arrival in the Islands.
  3. You will be placed under quarantine in a specified place for a period of fourteen days and shall be monitored by a health officer for symptoms and signs of COVID-19 disease.
  4. You will be required to sign a quarantine order and to complete other relevant forms as required by the Ministry of Health.
