Hon. Dwyane Taylor

Hon. Dwayne Taylor, a former Police Officer of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force for fifteen (15) years has had training in various capacities within the Police Department from Sociology, Interpersonal Relations Skills, Money Laundering and Sexual Crimes against women and children.

He has worked extensively with young people in the area of personal development and spiritual growth. A former church Youth Leader and youth activist, Hon. Dwayne Taylor has coached basketball and mentored many young men and women. Hon. Dwayne Taylor continued his Christian Leadership training at World Harvest Bible College, Columbus Ohio (Valour Bible College) and pursuing his Bachelors in Theology.

In 1999, Hon. Dwayne Taylor became a certified UNICEF Trainer in Domestic Violence, Kingston Jamaica where he facilitated the launching of the Domestic Violence Chapter in the Turks and Caicos Islands by UNICEF as a resource person and trained a number of stakeholders from around the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Hon. Dwayne Taylor’s training in various capacities has led him down different career paths taking on many managerial positions from Senior Compliance Officer to Compliance Manager in Social Security and Health Schemes to Debt Reconciliation Officer in the Turks and Caicos local Bank.

Hon. Dwayne Taylor was first elected to the House of Assembly in the year 2003 and served as Deputy Speaker for that period. It was during this tenure Hon. Dwayne Taylor initiated the debate and advocated for Child Protection and Domestic Violence Against Women and Children laws. Today with the aid and advocacy of many others there are laws to protect women and children.

Hon. Dwayne Taylor was elected to the House of Assembly by a majority vote in the House of Assembly on December 29th, 2016 as Speaker.

Hon. Dwayne Taylor is married to Mckay Taylor for 21 years and their marriage has produced three (3) children.
