The Ministry of Health advises the public that as at 12am on 11th February 2021:

OVER THE PAST 24HRS TWENTY-EIGHT (28) NEW cases of COVID-19 have been identified.

The number of Active confirmed cases in the TCI stands at Three hundred and seventy-five (375).

Forty-five (45) New recoveries.

One Hundred (100) new test conducted.

Number of persons in Quarantine is 937.

NO (0) Confirmed case is quarantined at a government facility.

Twelve (12) persons hospitalized.

TWO (2) NEW COVID related Death has been recorded bringing the total number of deaths to 12.

The public is strongly urged to follow all health advice and guidelines from the Ministry, especially as we progress with the phased reopening. The Public is strongly urged to continue to call the COVID-19 hotline if you are experiencing any COVID symptoms..

Let's continue to reduce the risk by:

  1. Washing our hands for 20secs or more.
  2. Wearing of masks required in public.
  3. Practicing social distancing.
  4. Prepare your home, office and other surroundings by following the advice of the Ministry of Health and other credible health agencies.
  5. Cover your coughs and sneezes (use your elbow or a tissue which should be properly disposed of).
  6. Keep frequently touched surfaces clean e.g. tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets and sinks.
  7. Protect those who are vulnerable in the community such as the elderly or those with underlying health conditions.

TCI RECORDS (1) CONFIRMED CASE OF COVID-19 IN AMBERGRIS CAY

TCI records (1) confirmed case of COVID-19 in Ambergris Cay

Today, Monday 8th February 2021, the Ministry of Health reports one (1) confirmed COVID-19 case on the island of Ambergris Cay. This confirmed case was previously attributed to Providenciales, however has since been confirmed as residing on Ambergris Cay. The public health team have notified the individual with aggressive contact tracing underway.

The Ministry of Health requests that the general public cooperate with contact tracing teams and to practice the relevant public health measures in order to prevent further spread of Covid-19 throughout the TCI.

Persons should;

  • Wash their hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available
  • Maintain social distancing of 6 feet between persons
  • Wear face coverings in public settings (covering nose and mouth)
  • Avoid mass gatherings or crowds
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes with your elbow or use disposable tissues
  • Comply with public health measures
  • Stay home where possible

If you have symptoms of Covid-19 which include; cough, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath, fever, diarrhea, loss of sense of taste or smell-please stay home and contact the Health Hotlines on 232 9444 or 333 0911

Do not visit health care facilities if you have symptoms or signs of Covid-19, call the Health Hotlines for guidance unless your symptoms are severe

If you are under quarantine by the Public Health Team, please remain at home and comply with the guidance provided to you.

If you are contacted by the Public Health Team as a part of contact tracing activities, please provide all of the information requested to assist them in their investigations
