QUARANTINE ORDER NOTICE TO RESIDENTS OF THE TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS

The Ministry of Health Agriculture Sports and Human Services wishes to remind residents of the quarantine regulations. 

A quarantine order is issued to the following persons under the COVID-19 emergency powers:

  1. All returning residents of the Turks and Caicos Islands.
  2. All persons who are suspected of having COVID-19.
  3. All persons who have been in contact with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19.

Persons placed in home quarantine are required to stay at home, along with everyone in their household for a mandatory period of fourteen (14) days.  These individuals and their families must remain at home and within the confines of their property.  Persons who are placed on quarantine in a facility, must remain within the confines of their rooms and are not to socialize with others in the quarantine centre. In addition, no person is permitted to visit persons in quarantine other than Public Health staff or for the delivery of essential items. It is important for individuals on quarantine to remain in their place of quarantine in order to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 to others.  Persons who have been quarantined have signed an order which is a legally binding document.  Persons in breach of this order are committing an offence which is punishable by law. 

The public is advised that they can report anyone who is non-compliant with quarantine to the Ministry of Health by calling one of the Hotline numbers on; 232-9444 or 333-0911.  You do not need to disclose your name. 

The public is advised to follow the safety precautions to aid in the prevention of COVID-19: frequent handwashing and sanitizing, wearing of face coverings in public places, maintaining a physical distance of 6 feet, avoiding sick people, remaining at home if you are sick.
