BAHAMAS AND TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS PUBLIC FORECAST

THIS IS PUBLIC FORECAST FOR TODAY AND TONIGHT THURSDAY 12TH NOVEMBER 2020 ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY AT 6AM  

GENERAL SITUATION: TRAILING MOISTURE ASSOCIATED WITH TROPICAL STORM ETA WILL KEEP RAIN CHANCES ELEVATED OVER THE WESTERN PORTION OF THE COUNTRY WHILE HIGH PRESSURE MAINTAINS BRISK WINDS ACROSS THE ENTIRE CHAIN OF ISLANDS. ELSEWHERE, A WEAK TROPICAL WAVE IS EXPECTED TO ENTER THE SOUTHEASTERN ISLANDS LATER TODAY.

SPECIAL WARNINGS: BOATERS SHOULD REMAIN VIGILANT FOR POSSIBLE WATERSPOUT ACTIVITY AND BEACHGOERS SHOULD EXERCISE CAUTION DUE TO DANGEROUS RIP CURRENTS AND ROUGH SURF MAINLY AT NORTH AND EAST COAST BEACHES.

WEATHER: PARTLY TO MOSTLY CLOUDY, WARM AND WINDY WITH A FEW SCATTERED SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS TODAY…GRADUAL CLEARING AND BREEZY WITH A FEW PASSING SHOWERS AND THE CHANCE OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS MAINLY ACROSS THE EXTREME NORTHWEST BAHAMAS TONIGHT.
