PUBLIC FORECAST FOR TODAY AND TONIGHT WEDNESDAY 11TH NOVEMBER 2020

GENERAL SITUATION: STREAMING TROPICAL MOISTURE WILL CONTINUE TO GENERATE SHOWER ACTIVITY ACROSS THE ISLANDS. MEANWHILE, A TIGHT PRESSURE GRADIENT BETWEEN TROPICAL STORM ETA AND BUILDING HIGH PRESSURE TO THE NORTH WILL SUSTAIN FRESH TO LOCALLY STRONG BREEZES AND HIGH SEAS THROUGH TONIGHT.

SPECIAL WARNINGS: BEACHGOERS SHOULD REFRAIN FROM ENTERING THE WATERS DUE TO LIFE-THREATENING RIP CURRENTS ALONG NORTH AND EAST COAST BEACHES. BOATERS SHOULD ALSO REMAIN VIGILANT DUE TO THE THREAT OF POSSIBLE WATERSPOUT ACTIVITY, ALONG WITH GUSTY WINDS AND HIGHER SEAS IN OR NEAR HEAVY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.

WINDS: SOUTHEAST TO SOUTH AT 10 TO 15 KNOTS IN THE NORTHWEST BAHAMAS. EAST TO SOUTHEAST AT 15 TO 20 KNOTS BUT GUSTY AT TIMES IN THE CENTRAL ANS SOUTHEAST BAHAMAS INCLUDING THE TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS.

SEAS: 5 TO 8 FEET OVER THE OCEAN IN SUBSIDING EASTERLY SWELLS. 

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK:   A TROPICAL WAVE OVER THE EASTERN CARIBBEAN SEA IS CURRENTLY PRODUCING A LARGE AREA OF DISORGANIZED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. THIS SYSTEM HAS A HIGH, OR 80 PERCENT CHANCE OF TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION THROUGH THE NEXT 5 DAYS.
