3 DAY PUBLIC FORECAST

BAHAMAS AND TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS PUBLIC FORECAST 6:00 AM TODAY AND TONIGHT TUESDAY 10TH NOVEMBER 2020

GENERAL SITUATION:  RAINBANDS ASSOCIATED WITH TROPICAL STORM ETA, IN THE GULF OF MEXICO, WILL CONTINUE TO AFFECT THE BAHAMAS. MEANWHILE, A TIGHTENING PRESSURE GRADIENT BETWEEN TROPICAL STORM ETA AND A HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM LOCATED NORTH WILL PRODUCE STRONG WINDS AND HAZARDOUS SWELLS ACROSS THE ISLANDS.

SPECIAL WARNINGS: SMALL CRAFT OPERATORS SHOULD REMAIN IN PORT IN THE NORTHWEST BAHAMAS AND SHOULD NOT VENTURE FAR FROM PORT IN THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST BAHAMAS, DUE TO LARGE, HAZARDOUS NORTHEAST TO EASTERLY SWELLS. BEACHGOERS SHOULD REFRAIN FROM ENTERING THE WATERS DUE TO LIFE-THREATENING RIP CURRENTS AND ROUGH SURF ALONG NORTH AND EAST COAST BEACHES. BOATERS SHOULD ALSO REMAIN VIGILANT DUE TO THE THREAT OF POSSIBLE WATERSPOUT ACTIVITY, ALONG WITH GUSTY WINDS, HIGHER SEAS AND REDUCED VISBILITY IN OR NEAR HEAVY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK:   A TROPICAL WAVE IS FORECAST TO MOVE OVER THE CENTRAL CARIBBEAN SEA, WHERE AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE COULD FORM IN A COUPLE OF DAYS. THIS SYSTEM HAS A MEDIUM OR 60 PERCENT CHANCE OF FORMATION THROUGH THE NEXT FIVE DAYS.

ALL AREAS
