JOB SUMMARY:

This job is technical in nature and requires the post holder to be responsible for the execution of land surveying assignments within the assigned District, which includes Providenciales, West Caicos and neighbouring Cays. The post holder will be required to work under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides leadership through adherence to professional conduct and ethics, setting SMART objectives, working in teams and monitoring;
  • Direct involvement in the formulation of the department’s Business Plan, policies, and budget to support the Lands Division’s mandate;
  • Evaluates operational results against objectives and takes corrective action where necessary;
  • Monitor property transactions;
  • Maintain database of all property valuations and sales transactions in order to aid in assessment of property values;
  • Negotiate the purchase of property whether by private treaty or compulsorily on behalf of the government;
  • Prepare monthly reports;
  • Create and maintain a work environment that promotes team work, motivation and productivity;
  • Conduct performance reviews;
  • Ensures that relevant information is communicated to staff in a timely manner;
  • Ensures that training and development needs are identified and that steps are taken to address them;
  • Participate in the recruitment of staff for the Department;
  • Adhere to all Public Service codes, rules and regulations;
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

·   A Bachelor of Science Degree in Land Surveying & Geographic Information Sciences or                     Geomatics from a recognised institution.

·   The position requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Land Surveyor to acquire          the necessary competencies to respond effectively to the challenges of this post.

SALARY:

  • Grade 6.1: $35,794.15 per annum plus allowances
